Senior Vice President
Mr. Johannsen started his real estate career over 35 years ago, and has developed, managed, leased, syndicated and financed all types of commercial real estate. To date, he has been responsible for the placement of over $1.6 billion in real estate and capital transactions. In addition to his transactional responsibilities, he has overseen the complete underwriting and structuring of joint ventures in connection with the transactional assignments.

Prior to joining Thomas D. Wood and Company, Mr. Johannsen was Managing Director of the Aztec Group, Inc. in Miami for 19 years. Immediately prior to Aztec, he was Chief Operating Officer of three wholly owned subsidiaries of a multi-million dollar savings and loan, where his responsibilities included the analysis, negotiation and acquisition of commercial properties for private placement syndication. He was also responsible for the acquisition of over $100 million of properties as well as for the workout and disposition of the S&L's $150 million REO portfolio.

As Senior Vice President at Thomas D. Wood and Company, Mr. Johannsen handles the placement of equity, mezzanine, construction and permanent financing . Mr. Johannsen also acts as the Senior Vice President for Colliers Abood-Wood Fay, LLC with the Investment Sales and Finance Team.  Their primary focus is the sale of retail, office and other institutional quality commercial real estate.

Mr. Johannsen holds both Bachelor of Arts and Masters of Business Administration degrees from Rollins College, Winter Park, Florida. He was also awarded the internationally recognized CCIM (Certified Commercial Investment Member) designation. 

Mr. Johannsen has been an Expert Witness in the United States District Courts, US Federal Courts and the Judicial Courts of the 11th and 15th Circuits.  In addition, Mr. Johannsen was an adjunct professor for over 20 years at both Palm Beach Community and Broward Community Colleges. Mr. Johannsen was also an Instructor for the Commercial Real Estate Investment Council teaching the CCIM courses.
