Stephen Wechsler is a Vice President for Thomas D. Wood and Company, where he is responsible for the origination and analysis of commercial real estate loans. Mr. Wechsler is also Vice President of Colliers Abood Wood-Fay Capital Markets Group, where he finances and brokers real estate transactions. Mr. Wechsler is a licensed Mortgage Broker and Realtor in the state of Florida.
Before joining Thomas D. Wood and Company, Mr. Wechsler was involved in financing over $150 million of real estate transactions throughout the United States. These transactions included various property types, and also involved structured finance deals, including mezzanine loans and equity participation.
Previously, Mr. Wechsler was a Technology Consultant for Accenture (Andersen Consulting) and worked on several large government projects, including the US Postal Service and the US Air Force. Mr. Wechsler was also a Project Manager and Product Development Manager for Interland, a large web-hosting company, and helped lead them through a successful IPO and merger with Micron Technologies.
Mr. Wechsler studied Business Administration at the University of Florida, and graduated Cum Laude with a Bachelor’s degree in Finance from Florida International University. Mr. Wechsler also received his Master’s in International Real Estate from Florida International University.
Mr. Wechsler has been very involved in community and civic organizations and professional affiliations. He is involved with Hands on Miami, The Make-A-Wish Foundation, The Florida Brain Tumor Association, and The Boys and Girls Club. He has also worked and lived overseas, including teaching English in Sao Paulo, Brazil. Mr. Wechsler is a native Floridian, born and raised in Miami, and he speaks conversational Spanish and Portuguese.
